Around 8:34 am Modi wished the congress vice president by tweeting , "Wishing the Congress Vice President, Shri Rahul Gandhi a Happy Birthday. I pray for his good health & long life. "
Tweeting birthday greetings to prominent people has been a routine with Mr. Modi but Mr. Gandhi had till date not made it to his list. He also sent out a similar message to Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh.
Unlike in the past, this year Mr. Gandhi will be in the country on his birthday . The new incarnate of Rahul Gandhi appeared to be finding takers – at least on Twitter where "#HappyBirthdayRG'' was the third trending subject of the morning.
