One such performer, who has represented India worldwide, is Pt. Sandeep Mahavir. Pracheen Kala Kendra in collaboration with the Department of Culture affairs Chandigarh administration presents “Smelting Contours” where Sandip Mahavir performed to Indian classical tunes with modern fusion and won over everyone's hearts. He performed with 14 other musicians and dancers, one of which was renowned musician Mr. Ranjit Barot.

Indian Classical Dance Maestro Pt. Sandeep Mahavir has been conferred upon the titles of ‘Nritya Vilas’ by the Sur Shringra Sansad, ‘Nritya Shiromani’ from the Image Welfare Achievers Forum & ‘Millenium Dancer’ from Canada.


Pt. Sandeep Mahavir said, "I'm feeling glad to be performing here in Chandigarh. Pracheen Kala Kendra have always bestowed their love upon me whenever I performed for them. I'm happy with the way they promote and teach Indian classical dance at this level. This time I'm doing a larger than life show for them, a kathak performance with a very modern fusion accompanied with drums by the one and only, Mr. Ranjeet Barot. I and my team's attempt here will be to make kathak reach the youth in their music flavors so they understand and love this form."


Today, Pt. Sandeep Mahavir has completely dedicated himself to his art, by teaching students at his academy, giving performances across the world, collaborating with and exploring new dance forms with renowned international names, doing dance based reality shows on television and giving appearances in movies.
