Guwahati: To deal with terror in North East India, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh would meet Chief Ministers of eight north eastern states in Guwahati on July 11, officials said. During the day-long meet, the Union Home Minister will discuss and finalise strategies to deal with terror, border management and other security related matters.

A top official of Assam state home department said that, Rajnath Singh, his deputy Kiren Rijiju, DONER minister Jitendra Singh, CM of eight north eastern states, top officials of Home ministry, Assam Rifles, Intelligence Bureau (IB), BSF will attend the meeting.

“The issues of natural disaster, climate changes also would discuss in the day long meet,” the official said. Union Home Ministry had worried after the deadly attack on army by militant groups in Chandel district in Manipur on June 4, where 18 army soldiers were killed.

Recently, several rebel groups of NE region including NSCN(Khaplang), ULFA(I), NDFB(S), KLO had formed an new conglomerate militant group. The newly floated United Liberation Front of Western South East Asia (UNLFW) had claimed responsibility of the June 4 attack.
