With the Independence Day coming close, the threat from Pakistan-based terror groups appears larger and the security has been tightened and the police forces have been asked to remain alert.

With the Independence Day coming close, the threat from Pakistan-based terror groups appears larger and the security has been tightened and the police forces have been asked to remain alert.


Security agencies have issued a warning against a probable air-borne attack using paragliders or sea-borne at key locations such as the BJP Offices. The Home Ministry has cautioned against a possible invasion of terrorists similar to the 26/11 attack via the air route to strike to attack sensitive locations.


The possible targets are likely to be Metro Stations, Lotus Temple, Red Fort, Malls in Noida and political personalities. The Ministry has further in its communication to all the state police forces cited an April 16 input signifying that AQIS was involved in planning the attack against India at Indian Naval facilities and other unsecured waterfronts.


The Ministry also suggested that the threats might include towards Western Naval Command in Mumbai, the Naval base in Karwar (INS Kadamba), Southern Naval Command in Kochi (INS Venduruthy) and also Gujarat.


Flying/gliding clubs are being checked to counter the threat from remote controlled aircraft, from remote pilotless vehicles, open grounds and spaces, para gliders and hang gliders, abandoned air strips etc allowing lift off to rule out use of aero modules by hostile elements. Sources also inform that the ISI plans to explode/hijack Air India flights operating in Kabul-Delhi sector where Senior Indian Officials are deployed.
