New Delhi: The first confirmed result of the Bihar assembly polls on Sunday went to the Janata Dal-United, with its candidate Janardan Manjhi winning from Amarpur constituency in Banka district.

Manjhhi defeated the BJP's Mrinal Shekhar by 11,773 votes by securing 73,707 votes, the Election Commission said. Manjhi had also won the 2010 polls.
