The high court had earlier ordered the parties in question to resolve the issues in meetings. There were eight meetings in the previous month, which did not yield any result. The summary of the meetings is to be submitted to the high court in a report on Monday, after which the employees are to go on a strike.

The strike would be problematic as there are three lakh Metro commuters everyday. The BMRCL has stated that it would be getting Kochi staff to operate the metro, while the workers are on strike .

Suryanarayana Murthy, vice-president of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Employees Union has stated that they will take whether to call a strike or not, depending on the high court hearing on Monday afternoon and that the steps being taken by BMRCL would not work, that they may use untrained staff, which could be dangerous.
