Congress revival plan from domestication to caging……

The poll outcome in UP’s Kairana’s constituency although serves a strong warning signal to BJP but it doesn’t give any reason for congress to celebrate on the victory of united opposition. But congress is overjoyed more than the winner or the united opposition parties.

The united opposition may be a challenge to BJP but indeed it is not sweet news to congress. Neither to unify different opposition parties nor to guide them, congress under its dynast is likely to have any significant role. Congress has to play second fiddle to and must wait for its loaf of bread at the mercy of united opposition parties.

Difficult to win seats are generously going to be allotted to congress by united opposition parties. Congress is left with only one choice that is accept whatever left over is given to it by the united opposition parties or the congress can beg and cry again for some more.

The strength of Ravana was his weakness as well and that is why he abducted Sita and got killed by Rama. Ravana knew his invincible power and so was Hiranyakashipu. Because of such power they become arrogant and committed one mistake after another and finally got eliminated.

Today the strength of Congress is that it is a national party with reasonable presence in most of the states. So this strength would certainly help congress to have a deal with united opposition parties. But the strength of the congress is only going to benefit the regional parties and not the congress. Congress is going to erode its base further by supporting all those parties it has been opposing for several decades.

The present generation in all possibility would think why they have to recognize different political parties when all of them are contesting jointly and it means all these parties have got one political agenda and ideology. Such thinking in all likelihood would favour regional parties and not congress. Regional parties due to their strong regional identity would strengthen their base and congress would vanish swiftly.
The meek submission and surrender of congress to JDS in Karnataka is the best example.

Finally congress has also struck a deal with JDS that both parties would fight 2019 election jointly. It means congress would contest only half of the parliamentary seats in Karnataka in 2019 and rest will be allotted to JDS. Imagine if a student is consciously going to answer only for 50 marks then the likely hood of getting pass mark itself is under risk and even if the student secure pass mark that cannot be beyond 50%. If congress decides to contest in Karnataka of its own it may secure 60% or more seats.

Considering the political realities in India, congress need JDS and not the vice versa. Any which way JDS may win a few seats more with the help of congress and the number of seats JDS can win would definitely increase. So JDS has nothing to lose from hard bargain but congress must heed to JDS and other regional parties if it wants to survive and save its face.

The new leadership of congress should strengthen the party from grass root and not weaken it further. If congress contest election on the basis of principle certainly the party can bounce back and if it fall prey to cut throat politics to somehow defeat BJP, in true sense congress will be defeating itself more than the BJP.
From domestication to caging, congress appears to have chosen permanent caging for its survival.

It is the congress that has chosen to enter inside the cage of the united opposition so none of the opposition party is going to release the congress from the cage in future nor the congress can do it on its own.

Revival of regional parties in Indian politics is neither good for our country nor for congress in particular. India should be one and there should be no Indian with any particular regional identity and that is how the new generation envisage India to be.

It is like even the most rationalist scientist some time may seek to divinity or faith healing practices when he or she suffers from incurable diseases. It looks like congress has reduced itself to such level as if a renowned neutralist or cardiologist turns to superstitious healing for their acute neurological or cardiologic problems despite knowing well about science and fake medicines.
