New Delhi: An Italian man was apprehended by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the IGI airport here on Friday for allegedly carrying an unauthorised satellite phone, a senior official said.

L D Giorgi, who had an Italian passport, was apprehended by CISF personnel after the satellite phone was detected in his baggage. He was bound for Amsterdam, he said.

The man was handed over to the Delhi Police, as carrying a satellite phone is against the law. Only defence and other authorised personnel can possess the communication gadget, the official said.

On Thursday, a South Korean national was apprehended at this airport for the same offence.
