sem2Nellore: A seminar on 'Energy conservation and Power Grid concepts' was held at Audisankara Institute of Technology near Gudur in Nellore district on Tuesday. The seminar was held for second and third year B.Tech EEE students. Participating as the chief guest in the seminar, SV Mahesh Babu, Assistant Divisional Engineer of APTransco, emphasized the need for conserving energy in view of increasing industrial and domestic power consumption. wer conserved is equivalent to one and half units of power generated," he revealed.
Mahesh Babu also briefed the students about the operations, maintenance and security of power grids and laid stress on the need to initiate precautionary measures against incurring losses due to the tripping of power grids. Dr R K Gnanamurthy, College Principal, addressing the students he said that the gap between power generation and power consumption should be narrowed down to a considerable extent to make conservation of power possible for future needs. "Power plays a crucial role in the industrial development of the nation," he said. SK Jan Bhasha, Head of the Department of EEE, faculty members and students were present.
