A 23-year-old Sikh woman of Indian origin Harnam Kaur in London has a beard, abnormally. She has started getting hair on her face from the time she was 16-year old. There was no difference on her beard to that of the natural beard males have. Initially she used to cover her face with a sort of cloth and used to manage somehow.

But, as the time went on, she had to face many problems with that. People used to make a mockery of her; bowing to which Harnam used to feel mentally depressed. It was then when her brother Gurudeep stood by her in support of her.

He was with her in every walk of her life and encouraged her in all possible ways and means. As the time passed, she started working as a teaching assistant at a primary school and gained a name for self. She even attained a rare honour as the only woman with a beard in the world. Bard Season, a voluntary organisation has come forward to exhibit 60 selective photos under a project title Project 60. This show will begin soon in London. Her photo has been selected for the ibid exhibition.

On this auspicious occasion of Rakhi the story of brother Gurudeep who encouraged his sister Harnam Kaur draws inspiration to many and reveals the hidden moral the Rakhi festival sermonizes.
