London: New range of genetically modified apple has been created which will fizz into your mouth when you take a bite.

The Paradis Sparkling apple, which has been dubbed as the world's first "sparkling" apple and is priced at 34 dollars, has huge cells in the flesh of the fruit that discharge tingling juices just like a fizzy drink, the Mirror reported.

Robert Maierhofer, production manager at Lubera, the firm which spent years of perfecting the fruit, said that the fruit was different and had "soft texture with a heavy crunch and very big cells that open up in the mouth," something which people had never eaten before.

However, he added that the sensation was only experienced when the apple was bitten into and not when it's pressed.

Mr. Maierhofer said they had used richest apples produced from a tree to cross-breed, and after being allowed easier access to the East German apple, a Swiss fruit nursery had visited the former Soviet Bloc country to mix it with the variety Pirouette.
