Khammam: Water from Krishna River will be supplied to Thirumalayapalem mandal through Bhakta Ramadasu Project by the end of December, told the Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao here on Wednesday.The R&B Minister participated in several developmental programmes here in Thirumalayapalem mandal of Khammam on Wednesday.
He inaugurated the additional classrooms in Zilla Parishad High School constructed at a cost of Rs 26 lakh and, laid foundation stone for laying of road from Thirumalayapalem to Mulkapally at a cost of 4.45 crore.
The Minister also laid a foundation stone for the construction of the double bedroom houses in the mandal headquarters.Speaking on the occasion, Tummala said by Ugadi every household would be supplied with safe drinking water through Mission Bhageeratha Project.
“The government is determined to provide shelter to every poor person in Thirumalayapalem mandal by constructing the double bedroom houses,” assured the Minister. “Telangana without poor people is the dream of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao,” said the Minister. He further added that the government introduced several welfare schemes to help the poor in the State and asked them to utilise in proper way.
“As many as 12,000 applications are received in Thirumalayapalem mandal to acquire rights on the lands on the basis of ‘Saidabainama’ (Right of Records-ROR). By studying all the applications, lands would be handed over to all those applicants who are eligible,” assured the Minister.
Tummala also requested the landlords to show mercy on the poor and cooperate with the government in giving rights to them on the lands where they have been cultivating for the last 50 years.District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar, ZP Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha were present along with other officials.
