Mancherial: the local police on Friday arrested five members of a family including the husband Prashant, in connection with the murder case of Ravikanti Sirisha.
She was found dead under suspicious conditions at Reddy Colony on November 27. Deputy Commissioner of Police John Wesley told press persons that besides Prashant, his parents Ravikanti Ramesh and Lakshmi, sisters Rajini and Radhika, have been found guilty of murder for additional dowry.
The investigation revealed that Rs 5 lakh was paid as dowry to the groom’s family at the time of marriage in April this year. She was harassed for additional dowry and beaten to death with rods. The DCP said a case has been registered against the five family members.
