Nirmal: District Joint Collector CH Shivalingaiah urged the members of different associations to go in for cashless or digital transactions in the district in the wake of demonetisation of the Rs 500 and 1000 currency notes.
He conducted an awareness programme on the digital transactions to the owners of petrol bunk,commercial tax, kirana shops association,wine shop LPGgass dealers and medical shop associations across the district here on Wednesday.
The Joint Collector instructed the officials to install POS without fail.
Hwe said that the people in the district should be made aware of digital transactions and its benefits.
They should open saving accounts to avoid future chaos as entire future depends on cashless transactions, he added.
Manager of district literacy program me, Nadeem gave a power point presentation on digital payments .DSO Sudarshan,district commercial tax officers and members of various associations were present.
