Nizamabad: The staff of Telangana Medical Contract Workers Union sat on a dharna in front of the Government Hospital in the town on Thursday demanding the clearance of their pending salaries of the last two months.

Speaking to the media, they deplored the indifferent and negligent attitude of the State government and the medical and health department towards the problems faced by the sanitary workers and other para-medical staff of the hospital.

They said that though they also held discussions with the Joint Labour Commissioner in Hyderabad, no action was taken till now.

They warned the governemtn that they would intensify their agitation if their demands of sanctioning eight holidays for national festivals per year, payment of minimum wages and sanctioning of 20 earned leaves in a year.
