Five held for teasing Norwegian woman

Nizamabad: While the UPA Government has succeeded in getting the anti-rape Bill passed in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, such incidents continue to occur at various places across the country. According to police, 23 year old Norwegian woman tourist , along with other tourists, was going from Hyderabad to Shirdi in a private travels bus. Some co-passengers of the bus started teasing her. The woman requested the bus driver to stop the bus at the nearest police station and accordingly, the driver stopped the bus at Dichpalli police station. The woman lodged a complaint against some co-passengers and the police arrested five persons in this regard. The arrested include T Vijay, Uppal Chander, Chithram Ranjit, Rayadurgam Saikiran and Thimrithi Sudarshan Reddy. A case was registered in this regard and the arrested were sent to remand.Ranjit, Saikiran students and others labourers were booked under sections 290, 506 and 509.
