Minister assures more works under NREGS

Nizamabad: Rural Development Minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasada Rao stated that more works would be provided to the daily wagers under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) in the coming days. He visited Lingupalli village of Domakonda mandal in the district on Thursday and reviewed the progress of NREGS works. The Minister said that the government was planning to provide more works to the people in the rural areas under the ambitious scheme. Interacting with the villagers, he told the workers to utilise the scheme and save money to support their children's education and for other purposes. He observed payment of wages through Bio-Metric System at the village Post Office. Rural Development Commissioner Subrahmanyam and other officials were present.
