goNizamabad: Various sections of people �boys , girls, students and women � celebrated Holi festival in ecstasy on Wednesday at different places in the district. The revellers smeared colours and sprinkled coloured waters on one another. Many youths were seen going on motorcycles inviting their friends and relatives to participate in the celebration. Gujaratis and Marwadis participated in the `Vasantotsavam' celebrations in large numbers in the town to mark Phalguna Pournami. Khammam: District Collector Siddharth Jain celebrated Holi along with family members at his Camp office in the town on Wednesday. SP A V Ranganath and other officials greeted the Collector on the occasion. Warangal DIG Mahesh Ladda, Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) Managing Director M K Meena, Joint Collector K Surendramohan and Warangal District Joint Collector Pradyumna, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Project Officer Veerapandyan and other officials participated in the festivities at Camp office. Kamadahanam was held on Tuesday night.A Superintendent of Police A V Ranganath and other police officials participated in Holi festivities at Police Parade Grounds (PPG) in the town on Wednesday. Women, children and students were seen participating in the festival of colours at various places in the town. At road junctions, people burnt logs of wood in the early hours of the day to mark `Kamadahanam'. Later, they rejoiced by applying colours to their friends and relatives.
