MLC, MP visit Godavari water supply work site

Nizamabad: MLC Mohamed Ali Shabbir, Zahirabad MP Suresh Shetkar and other leaders inspected the Godavari Water Supply Scheme site at Mallannagutta in Sadasivnagar mandal in the district on Wednesday. Godavari waters reached Mallannagutta work site on Wednesday. Mr Mohamed Ali Shabbir, addressing the reporters, expressed satisfaction over the progress of water supply works. He said that the Godavari Water Supply scheme was proposed at Rs 144 cr when he was minister. Later, the work was not taken up and the cost increased to Rs 220 cr. After he became MLC, he took initiative and works were speeded up. Phase-I works of the scheme were completed and tenders were called to take up Phase-II works, he said. His dream to provide drinking water to the residents of Kamareddy Assembly constituency would be fulfilled after the completion of the scheme, he said.
