CPM dharna against power tariff

Chirala (Prakasam): Members of CPM and other parties have taken out a protest rally in the main streets of Chirala against the power tariff hike here on Thursday and staged a dharna at the Tahsildar's office. They obstructed the Tahsildar and other officials from entering the office and raised slogans against the government. CPM leader Prabhudas said, "When the people are already experiencing unscheduled power cuts, the hike in power tariff is adding to their misery." Circle Inspector Bhimnaik reached the spot and took the protestors into custody.
