Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, called it a step in the positive direction. Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, pointed out that with the presence of room for meditation and prayer, UCF students would have a spiritually meaningful life in addition to material success after they graduated from here.

Rajan Zed thanked UCF for recognizing the intersection of spirituality and education. Prayer and Reflection Room would be another feather in UCF’s cap in making it a top class and wholesome higher education institution.

Zed urged all universities and colleges of USA and Canada to provide prayer rooms if they were serious in the all-round development of their students. Zed suggested UCF to make this Room available to campus community 24-hours and 365 days.

Public research university UCF, claimed second largest university in USA, serves over 63,000 students from all 50 states and 148 countries with 210 degree programs and an operating budget of $1.5 billion. Ranked as one of the “Most Innovative” universities, its main campus stretches 1,415 acres. John C. Hitt and Marcos R. Marchena are President and Trustees Chairman respectively.
