Pune staged a remarkable recovery from being 0-2 down because of the stunning efforts of Vladimir Ivanov. The Russian won the singles against Saurabh Verma 21-16, 21-14 and then paired with Pranav Jerry Chopra for the crucial men doubles. Meanwhile, World No 2 Juliane Schenck put back an indifferent start to pull things back on track for Pune defeating Tine Baun in the women's singles 11-21, 21-10, 21-7.

Nyugen Tien Minh, coming from the setback to Sai Praneeth earlier, brought parity to the Pune score while scripting a facile 21-18, 21-13 victory over Marc Zwelbler. Fischer Nielsen Joachim and Ashwini Ponnappa won the decider for Pune while packing off Pranav Jerry Chopra and N Siki Reddy 21-20, 21-13.
