According to Nielsen ratings data, 2015 Women's World Cup final, where the US beat Japan 5-2, has become the most-watched football game ever with around 25.4 million viewers on TV, the BBC reported.
The audience peaked at 30.9 million between 01:30 and 01:45 BST.
The match, which was held in Vancouver, broke the records of the 2014 Brazil World Cup, which was tuned by 18.2 million people in US.
Notably, this was America's third Women's World Cup title after marking victories in 1991 and 1999.
Even after the match, around 14.6 million people were glued to view the post-match analysis.
