Shivani Ameneni, Harsha enter final

Telangana’s fourth seed Shivani Ameneni upset her second seeded state-mate Shaik Humera 6-3, 7-5 to storm into the girls singles final of the AITA National Series tennis tournament for Under-18 girls and boys at SATS Tennis Complex, Lal Bahadur Stadium here on Friday.

Hyderabad: Telangana’s fourth seed Shivani Ameneni upset her second seeded state-mate Shaik Humera 6-3, 7-5 to storm into the girls singles final of the AITA National Series tennis tournament for Under-18 girls and boys at SATS Tennis Complex, Lal Bahadur Stadium here on Friday.

She will meet top seeded city player Harsha Sai Challa for the title after thje former defeated ninth seed Mubasira Anjum 6-1, 1-6, 6-0. The boys title clash will be between top seed Siddhanth Bhatia of Maharashtra and Karnataka’s third seeded A Vannemreddy. Bhatia defeated sixth seed Dhakshineswar Suresh 7-6, 6-0 while second seed Adil Kalyanpur retired after the second set against Vannemreddy.
