Harpreet ton boosts MP
A scintillating unbeaten 112 by Harpreet Singh Bhatia was instrumental in Madhya Pradesh ending the first day of their Group ‘C’ Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh on a comfortable 292 for the loss of seven wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here on Thursday.
Hyderabad: A scintillating unbeaten 112 by Harpreet Singh Bhatia was instrumental in Madhya Pradesh ending the first day of their Group ‘C’ Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh on a comfortable 292 for the loss of seven wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here on Thursday.
Opting to bat on a lively wicket, their first at a neutral venue, Madhya Pradesh did well considering that the opponents were better placed going into the match. The batsmen had the upper hand all through the day although the scoring rate was not of any high order. Old warhorse Devndra Bundela managed 52 while Rajat Patidar and Rajat Patidar also chipped in useful contributions. Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav and Ankit Rajpoot accounted for two wickets each.
