Telangana Cricket Association Under-16 tourney takes-off today
The cricketing calendar of Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) will gain momentum when the Under-16 Inter-Districts State Championship, which is being conducted by them, gets underway at SATS Stadium at Mahaboobnagar on Wednesday.

According to Dharam Guruva Reddy, Secretary of the Association, 32 district-level teams drawn from across Telangana State will be vying for top honours. The tournament assumes significance because the top performers can eye bigger rewards in terms of berths in the State squad.
As per the format, the ensuing event will witness competitions from among South East Zone teams. The North East Zone teams will be seen in action a day later at Siddipet, while Central Zone teams will play at TKR Ranga Reddy and Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad.
He said that even as they were going all-out to unearth the best of talent in the districts, the TCA was simultaneously pursuing with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to push for an affiliation which he hoped could be achieved sooner than later.
The tournament will formally be inaugurated by A Venkateshwar Reddy, Chairman of Sports Authority of Telangana State. Legislators Srinivas Goud and Rajender Reddy will also be present on the occasion.
