Melbourne: Australian golfer Jarrod Lyle passed away in Torquay on Thursday at the age of 36 years after a long battle with leukaemia.

Lyle, who had been diagnosed for a third time, had undergone several operations recently.

The golfing community, including South Africa's Ernie Els, Britain's Tommy Fleetwood and American Justin Thomas, posted condolence messages on Twitter.
