Mumbai: The Click Asia Summit 2016 will be held at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai, on April 21 and 22. This is the third edition of India’s only curated digital transformation and marketing conference, and will feature acclaimed international speakers with relevant, focused content.
Click Asia is the leading mobile, social and online conference this side of the Atlantic and is designed to educate senior marketers on digital transformation. It provides participants with an experiential platform to transform their vision, develop the right mind-set and create networks that help them achieve their milestones faster.
Kavita Jhunjhunwala, director of Click Media, is curating the summit. “Digital has been a stepchild in organisations for too long, shuttling between marketing and IT. Digital is demanding a seat at the table and any organisation that doesn’t accept that will find itself in disarray,” she said.
This is why the summit’s content is focused on learning and new strategies as well as products that can be part of the digital marketing playbook. The content will be delivered through powerful insights, speeches, open forums and workshops.
The participants will include CXOs, digital marketing heads, brand managers and owners, agency heads, design leads, start-up founders and venture capitalists.
Among the speakers are Markus Keiper, director and chief transformation architect, Global Leadership Foundry; Ryan Bonnici, director of marketing, HubSpot Asia Pacific and Japan; Robert Scoble, entrepreneur in residence, UploadVR; Lucy McCabe, VP (Asia-Pacific), Ogilvy Red, Ogilvy & Mather; Avinash Jhangiani, MD, Omnicon Media Group; Babita Baruah, senior VP and head, PO1 Unit, JWT; Mahesh Murthy, founder of Pinstorm, co-founder of Seedfund; Nitin Bawankule, Google’s director of e-commerce, retail, online classifieds, technology, education and government; Jaideep Shergill, co-founder, Pitchfork Partners; and Sakhee Dheer, digital marketing and analytics lead at Microsoft Asia-Pacific.
The complete list of speakers is available on the summit website (URL below). The summit hopes to help break the barrier faced by old-economy companies and brands. It seeks to equip them to be part of the digital universe where new-age companies are disrupting the way business is being conducted.
“We are in the age of dynamic ZMOT (zero moment of truth). Millennials are constantly online across multiple devices and platforms; 45% are on their smartphones while watching TV. E-tailers have to constantly tailor their messaging and offerings to target the millennial at multiple relevant points spanning the consideration-research-purchase journey,” said Bawankule.
“Digital natives of India will have a massive say about the future of our world. How will we communicate, trade, measure, connect, etc? The Indian start-up and corporate scene will have its way and the world will listen,” added Keiper.
Among the points experts like Bawankule and Keiper will cover are evaluation of data points and in-depth analysis of innovative product information, along with legacy marketing issues. The conversations will also include tools and best practices in marketing technology; failure stories, case studies and big brand transformation; how to create a digital DNA; big data; content creation and roadmaps; five key industry-specific tracks on digital marketing (BFSI, retail, governance, travel, IT). A comprehensive list is available on the website.
The summit’s digital platforms include its website and a mobile app that enable participants to continue to engage with the experts through m-learning.
The summit’s sponsors are Meltwater and www.webspiders.com. Among the partners at the summit are Digital Doughnut, Tech in Asia, Eleve, Pitchfork Partners, Trade Briefs, YourStory.in and CMO Asia.
Bloggers’ meet
In the run-up to the summit, a bloggers’ meet has been organised at Doolally Taproom, Bandra (West) on March 22, 4.30 pm to 7 pm. A tweet-up will be part of the event and some of the summit’s speakers will attend. Among those are Seedfund’s Murthy; Omnicom Media Group’s Jhangiani; Aveek Dutta, associate editor, Forbes India; stand-up comedians Anuvab Pal and Aditi Mittal; and representatives from Google, JWT, Ogilvy & Mather, PubMatic and Flipkart.
