Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has urged Ashok Hinduja, chairman of Hinduja Group, to ensure that the State gets its due share in supply of power from the company’s newly established thermal power project in Visakhapatnam. The Hinduja project is nearing completion after nearly two decades of its initial plans and is expected to be commissioned later during the year.

The government of the undivided AP had signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Hinduja’s 1,040 MW thermal power plant. As a result, power generated from the project would be shared in the ratio of 53.89 and 46.11 between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh respectively. The issue came up when the Hinduja met KCR at Secretariat on Monday.
