An employee of India Cements arguing with Panduranga Rao before attacking him in the presence of HMTV reporter Ashok at Vadapalli on TuesdayNalgonda: The people of Vadapalli vent their ire at the India Cements company which has been polluting the environment in the district before the HMTV reporter Ashok and cameraman Ravi and the convener of Telangana Matti Manushulu, Venepalli Panduranga Rao. Suddenly without any provocation, the henchmen of the company verbally attacked the reporter and tried to snatch the camera from the cameraman of HMTV. They threatened the media persons with criminal cases. Activist Panduranga Rao sustained injuries in the attack and was admitted in Miryalaguda Government hospital.

Several people of the village told the reporters that they had been facing the heavy pollution, dust and illegal blasting. They said that the company had been indulging in a number of irregularities. They said that the people of Vadapalli, Irkigudem, Tallaveerappagudem were not in a position to live in these villages due to pollution.

They alleged that the company had encroached hundreds of acres of land. The small and marginal farmers were not in a position to undertake cultivation, they lamented. When the HMTV reporter tried to elicit views of the management of the company regarding allegations, he was verbally abused and in the melee, the camera’s lens was damaged.
