Hyderabad: With the heavy inflow of water from Karnataka and Maharashtra states, the dams in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been receiving heavy inflow of water. Many villages along the banks of Krishna and Tungabhadra Rivers have received flood alert going on with the heavy inflow of water from Karnataka.

Nagarjunasagar Dam

According to sources, Nagarjunasagar dam is receiving an inflow of 62,888 cusecs water while the outflow is maintained at 21,087 cusecs. The present level of water in the dam is at 519.80 feet while the maximum dam height is 590 feet.

From the other end, meteorological department has forecast heavy to very heavy rain in view of a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal. Though there has been a reported meteorological drought recorded in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, due to the heavy inflow of water into the dams there will not be any scarcity of water. May be temporary but surely such heavy inflow of water will stop the fight between the two Telugu states for water.
