Hyderabad: The TD and Congress parties on Friday lashed out at the TRS government for the manner in which the government was ignoring the farm sector and delaying the implementation of loan waiver scheme.

The Telangana State TDP demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao tender unconditional apology for resorting to police lathi-charge against the farmers who were on a dharna demanding seven- hour power supply in Medak district recently.

Addressing the press here, party leaders E Dayakar Rao and L Ramana lashed out at KCR for not fulfilling the election promise of supplying regular power to farmers. KCR’s latest statement that the power crisis would remain for the next three years proved that he was an inefficient Chief Minster in resolving sensitive issues, they said. Terming the two-month rule of KCR as that of 'Tughluk ' raj, the opposition party leaders said the TDP would stand by the people and would launch agitations if the government failed to take immediate measures to help the farmers. They warned KCR that there has been a spurt in number of farmer's suicides in the last two months.

They demanded that the Chief Minister clarify the government's stand on fee reimbursement, power supply to agriculture and farmers loan waiver scheme, without making conflicting statements. The TDP leaders also took strong exception to the police attack on the agitating students in the Osmania University which is on the boil again after the division of State.

Meanwhile, Congress senior leader T Jeevan Reddy also lashed out at KCR. He said that KCR was busier in raking up new controversies and creating confusion among the farmers and students.

The farmers were worried about non implementation of loan waiver scheme, while the students were worried over their career as the government had not issued guidelines for fee-reimbursement.
