Hyderabad: Telangana state is once again reeling under power shortage forcing longer outages. Following a shortfall of 20 MU per day, Hyderabad was facing 6 to 7 hours of power cut; in rural areas the load shedding is for 8 to 10 hours.

The TSSPDCL (Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited) officials told The Hans India that due to increase in agricultural operations across the state, the demand for power had gone up to 100 MU per day. The power utilities are able to supply only 80 MU. TS has about 30 lakh pumpsets.

The officials said that the energy demand for agriculture would be increased in the next three weeks if the state did not receive rains.
