Why BJP, Not TDP For Medak by-Election. Medak by-election has turned to be a matter of cachet to almost every party in Telangana state.
Medak by-election has turned to be a matter of cachet to almost every party in Telangana state. The Congress Party which thought to overthrow in Telangana state even at the cost of Andhra Pradesh has failed completely in the recent general elections. So, winning the Medak seat in the by-election is an issue in a do or die sort of situation. In the same manner, the Bharatiya Janata Party which has triumphed all over the nation except in Telangana has received a great question mark. The BJP has been equally responsible for Telangana to become a reality. In spite of that, the party has faced a great trounce in the state. Equally Telugu Desam Party also takes it as a challenge in the milieu of the survival of the party as currently the party’s glory started diminishing in Telangana.
Without having any question, the BJP and TDP alliance have decided to nominate the BJP candidate into the fray. TDP decided to support the candidature of BJP candidate as previously the same party was in the fray during general elections. It is the reason being quoted by both BJP and TDP parties. Nevertheless, according to the political analysts, there is a hidden reason for TDP to keep it away from the by-election. Without doubt, the TRS Party has a strong hold over the Medak Parliament constituency. It diminishes the chances of another party candidate winning the by-election. Also, Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, whose candidature has almost finalised by the Congress Party, is another strong contender for the by-election.
As analysed by most of the political analysts, if at all there would be a fight in the polls, it would be between TRS and Congress; else, the poll will be one-sided. At this juncture, it is better to keep away from contesting rather than contesting and losing the election. The same thought might have caused TDP sparing the constituency for the BJP in the by-election. Also, the BJP led NDA is the ruling government in the centre. So, a candidate winning for the Lok Sabha from Medak constituency can surely get things done for the constituency without much effort. Going on with the same thinking, people may elect the BJP candidate sometime for the Lok Sabha. This might have been another thought that made the two parties to decide to get the BJP candidate into the fray.
