Rs. 292 crore will be spent under Comprehensive Road Development Plan

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain held a review meeting on Comprehensive Road Development Plan with the Engineer-in-Chief, Chief Engineer and senior officials of the engineering wing and had a detailed discussion on the Comprehensive Road Development Plan (CRDP).

He instructed officials to take up the 34 road works below Rs 5 crores. He directed the Engineer-in-Chief and Chief Engineer to call for tenders and complete the tender process in a month. The mayor also informed that Rs 150 cr conventional and CC vide toping works had been placed before the government for approval and these works would be taken up after completing the tender process on priority after receiving the government order. He also said that the BT road works worth Rs. 60.05 crores also be taken up after receiving the government order. He further said that a total road works of Rs. 292 crores under Comprehensive Road Development Plan had to be expedited and to be completed on priority.

Mayor instructed the officials to finalise the 50 food centres and place it in the Standing Committee next week for approval in the review meeting. He also enquired about the RO Plants and instructed the officials to take up the tender process in 10 to 15 days time so that it can be installed on priority for the convenience of the citizens to have safe drinking water in all the 150 divisions. With regards to food scheme of Rs. 5 he informed that it would be started in all the 50 centres soon and nearly 17,000 people would be benefited from this scheme.

Mayor said that for the first time in GHMC, a national bidding of Rs. 150 crores worth works would be called for and this would be completed at the earliest after receiving the government order. This would give exclusive look/quality roads to the city as the entire city roads would be developed on par with international standards, he said adding after the completion of the CRDP there would not be any road cutting.
