Ganesh idols of various sizes and shapes are being taken out in the procession at the culmination of the Navarathri fete.

Largest number of Ganesh idols were set up at pandals in Karimnagar and Jagtial. About 1,000 large idols were taken in a procession and immersed in Manakonduru tank in Karimnagar. The idols were also immersed in canals at Chintakunta and Kothapalli. As the number of idols increased significantly this year, the police have made elaborate security arrangements. Despite rains across the district, the Ganesh immersion procession progressed without any interruption. People of different age groups participated in the procession. Earlier, there was no water in tanks due to lack of rains and people feared how they would conduct Ganesh immersion.

However, they now heaved a sigh of relief as the district received heavy rains during the last two days.
