Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and TRS general secretary K Keshava Rao among others after paying tributes to former AP Chief Minister T Anjaiah at Lumbini Park in Hyderabad on SaturdayHyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday paid floral tributes to the statue of former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh T Anjaiah at the Lumbini Park on the occasion of his death anniversary.

The Chief Minister announced that a premier educational institution and a park would be named after late Anjaiah apart from an installation of the statue of the leader at a location in the Musheerabad Assembly constituency, which he had represented. He exhorted people of Telangana to cultivate great regard for Anjaiah.

Speaking on the occasion, KCR recalled that late Anjaiah rose from an ordinary worker in Alwyn factory to the level of a trade union leader, Union Labour Minister and as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He also recalled that Anjaiah had played a key role during the 1969 Telangana agitation and described him as “a fighter for the cause of social justice”. Other leaders including TRS secretary general K Keshava Rao, honorary chairman of TNGOs Srinivas Goud were also present. Senior Congress leader and former minister K Jana Reddy also paid tributes to T Anjaiah on the occasion.
