GHMC to use more sweeping machines, In an effort to improve cleanliness on the streets, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning to use ten more machines under a pilot project to clean the main streets under its jurisdiction.
Hyderabad: In an effort to improve cleanliness on the streets, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning to use ten more machines under a pilot project to clean the main streets under its jurisdiction.
At present, the GHMC has 24 diesel-run sweeping machines and is planning to call for tenders from more companies.
The pilot project will be taken up on some of the main streets and basing on the results the GHMC will take some more machines to improve the sanitation in the GHMC jurisdiction. GHMC chief Somesh Kumar reviewed a demonstration of working of a machine at the GHMC head office on Thursday and said the regular sweeping employees would be provided with mechanical sweeping machines that would help them in a big way.
