Warangal: Even before finalising the candidate to be fielded for the ensuing graduates MLC constituency election, the TRS party district leadership is preparing its cadre to face the fight.

The party cadre was asked to conduct meetings at mandal and constituency levels and enroll all the eligible persons as voters to ensure victory of the party candidate in the Khammam-Nalgonda-Warangal MLC graduate constituency election. A preparatory meeting of the party district body held here on Sunday in connection with the election.

Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah, MP Kadiam Srihari, MLAs Konda Surekha and Aruri Ramesh, the party district president T Ravinder Rao, district in-charge P Sudarshan Reddy and others have appealed to the workers to work hard to win the election.

In the meeting, a resolution was passed urging the party leadership to give MLC ticket to the person belonging to Warangal district. The teachers’ constituency was now represented by P Ravinder who hails from Nalgonda. This time a person from Warangal should get the opportunity, they said.

The leaders argued that about 40 per cent of voters of the constituency were from Warangal district. Hence, a leader from Warangal should be chosen as the candidate for the election. All the leaders of the party have supported the move unanimously.

However, they pledged to work for victory of the candidate chosen by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Deputy CM Rajaiah called upon the party workers to go into the public claiming that separate Telangana was achieved by the TRS and the state would see massive development under the leadership of the CM.

The MLAs and the MPs suggested that an energetic campaign should be launched to publicise about the welfare programmes being undertaken by TRS regime such as roads, pensions and other developmental works.

It was decided to hold meetings in the Assembly constituencies. The ZP chairperson G Padma, former MLA M Bikshapathi, leader A Varada Reddy, Telangana Graduates Association president M Yadava Reddy and several others were present.
