GHMC to allot tricycles to 1,000 differently-abled
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner Somesh Kumar announced here on Wednesday that 1,000 physically challenged persons in the municipal limits would be allotted tricycles.
Physically challenged to be appointed as lift operators at 100 flyovers to come up in the city
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner Somesh Kumar announced here on Wednesday that 1,000 physically challenged persons in the municipal limits would be allotted tricycles.
Addressing a gathering of physically challenged persons from Ramachandrapuram and Patancheru circles as the chief guest at the World Disabled Day celebrations at Chandanagar indoor stadium, he said the tricycles would be given to the beneficiaries for travelling to far off places and also going to work spots.
Somesh Kumar stated that the tricycles would be financed by banks, just like the driver-cum-owner vehicles introduced by the corporation. Guidelines in this regards would be released shortly.
The Commissioner also disclosed that physically challenged persons would be appointed to manage lifts to be set up at the 100 flyovers to be built in the corporation limits. Four persons would be appointed at each lift, to provide gainful employment to them.
