Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has announced setting up of an exclusive 11,000-acre Pharma City at Mucherla in Ranga Reddy district. Noted pharma companies already expressed interest to invest to the tune of Rs 30,000 crore in this project, KCR said adding that 70,000 jobs would be up for grabs.

After his aerial survey along with a team comprising pharma companies’ heads and officials, the Chief Minister said the ambitious project would be christened as Hyderabad Pharma City.
Stating that the land is favourable for the Pharma City which would work on “Zero Liquid Discharge” system that will desist from adding to environmental problems, the Chief Minister said besides constructing a Pharma University and a Research Center nearby, a new township for the Pharma City employees would also be built. Rao vowed to complete the project at the earliest and even called for a high-level meeting in Secretariat on Friday with pharma company heads and officials to finalize modalities.
The CM was accompanied by Transport Minister Mahendar Reddy, Maheshwaram MLA Teegala Krishna Reddy, Revenue Secretary Meena, Industries secretary Pradeep Chandra, Chief Secretary Narsinga Rao, TSIIC MD Jayesh Ranjan, Pharma company representatives B. Parthasarathy Reddy, K Ratnakar Reddy (Hetero), K Satish Reddy (Dr Reddy’s Labs), K Nityananda Reddy (Aurobindo), M Narayana Reddy (Virco), P Eshwar Reddy (BDMA), MSN Reddy (MSN Laba), Santosh (VVMed), Dr S Anand (Sagar Group), M Mohan Rao and others were present.
