Warangal: Finance Minister Eatala Rajender suggested to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu to stop day-dreaming on coming to power in Telangana State in 2019.

He sought to know from the TDP chief whether his party would survive in Telangana until 2019 general elections, with reference to the claim made during a Telangana TDP executive body meeting held in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Rajender said the TDP was already falling apart in Telangana and by 2019 it would become out of sight. The people in the state were disconcerted over the manner in which the TDP leadership posed hurdles to the TRS government and harmed the interests of people in the state.

“Chandrababu Naidu could keep his cadre amused by his assertions on coming to power in Telangana, but he could not make the people in the state believe his words,” the Minister said.

The people in the state still remember the anti-Telangana attitude of Chandrababu Naidu and his efforts to thwart formation of a separate state. The TRS which countered all such scheming by Naidu would continue to fight against his evil designs against the state and its people, he said.

The Finance Minister accused the TDP chief of trying to hinder development of Telangana by dishonouring the commitment towards supply of 58 percent power produced in AP to the state of Telangana.

On TDP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao’s comments wherein he described TRS rule as ‘foolish governance’, Rajender said, “The TDP leaders were acting like fools and they should stop the cheap talk or else would face the wrath of the public.”

“The attitude of the TDP leadership clearly tells that even after formation of separate Telangana state, the Andhra hegemony is still being continued. The people should counter it,” he stated.

Eatala said that from December 10 to 15, a special drive would be held for distributing pensions to the aged, widows and physically challenged persons. “ Not a single beneficiary eligible to receive pension would be left out, clear guidelines were issued to all the Collectors in this regard,” he said”.

“Our prime concern is taking welfare schemes to grassroots level that is why we enhanced the budget from Rs 1,030 crore to Rs 4,000 crore for payment of pensions,” the Minister pointed out. He appealed to the beneficiaries of different schemes not to believe in reports appearing in some section of the media which were acting with vested interests.

TRS MLAs D Vinay Bhasker, V Sathish Babu, A Ramesh, Bala Kishan, N Odelu, B Shanker Naik, TRS leader DS Redya Naik, party district president T Ravinder Rao and others were present.
