Villagers block distribution of pensions
Villagers of Ranjol in this mandal on Tuesday blocked distribution of pensions alleging that many beneficiaries were rendered ineligible. They questioned officials as to how those who had been getting pensions could now be denied the benefit.

The villagers represented to the Collector demanding an inquiry into the episode of missing names. Project director Satyanarayana rushed to the village, inspected the beneficiaries’ list and assured that all eligible would be given pensions. His assurance did not satisfy the protestors. He directed officials to stop pension distribution until all the eligible were given the
benefit.
147 pensions distributed
Meanwhile, officials distributed pensions to eligible persons in the 13rd Ward. Addressing the gathering, Councillor Bandi Rangamma said 147 pensions had been sanctioned to eligible widows, elderly persons and disabled.
She assured that all eligible persons would be given pensions. Rangamma appealed to those who did not receive the amounts to approach her for getting the amounts sanctioned.
