Karimnagar: District Collector M Veerabrahmaiah instructed Tahsildars on Monday to sanction food security cards for all eligible persons. He spoke to Tahsildars through video conference from the Collectorate on issuing food security cards.

Speaking on the occasion, Veerabrahmaiah informed the Tahsildars to issue food security cards to the beneficiaries based on the guidelines of the government order 17. He said that not a single beneficiary should be left out while implementing the scheme. “The Tahsildars should know living standards and income of a beneficiary only after conducting a field visit if they have any doubts with regard to beneficiary,” he added. The Collector said that the officials concerned should not sanction food security cards based on population ratio. He has instructed the Tahsildars to take measures for supplying of superfine rice to all schools before December 31 so that food can be cooked with superfine rice in mid-day meal scheme from January 1.

He asked officials to impress upon people’s representatives to launch mid-day meal scheme on January 1. District Supply Officer Chandra Prakash and other officials were present.
