He administered the National Voters Day pledge to officials and staff at the Collectorate here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Bojja said that the Election Commission of India is observing National Voters Day on January 25 every year.

Sangareddy (Medak): District Collector Rahul Bojja on Saturday gave a call to people not to ignore exercising their franchise during elections. He administered the National Voters Day pledge to officials and staff at the Collectorate here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Rahul Bojja said that the Election Commission of India is observing National Voters Day on January 25 every year.

He said that pledge was administered to officials and students in all offices and educational institutions across the district in connection with National Voters Day. “Every voter can elect leaders of their choice by casting vote,” he added. Rahul Bojja asked the people to realise the importance of right to vote. He made an appeal to people to enroll their names in the electoral list if they did not register themselves till now.

He pointed out that district administration was taking necessary measures for enrollment of voters. A separate programme for enrollment of voters would be taken up as per the guidelines of the Election Commission. District Revenue Officer S Dayanand, district officials Guru Murthy, Prabhakar Reddy, Ravinder, D Srinivas, C Raja Reddy, Yesu Ratnam, Charan Das and other officials were present.
