Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial Day on June 2
Chief Minister K Chandrashehar Rao has decided to observe Telangana Martyrs Memorial Day on June 2 every year in all districts of Telangana State.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashehar Rao has decided to observe Telangana Martyrs Memorial Day on June 2 every year in all districts of Telangana State.
On this occasion, there will be an official programme in every district headquarters which include paying floral tributes at the designated sites of Martyrs’ Memorials besides other programmes in a befitting manner, according to a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office on Tuesday.
It may be mentioned that the Telangana State was born on June 2, 2014. Martyrs’ Memorials already exist in Karimnagar, Warangal and Nalgonda districts and these three district collectors have been asked to declare them as official Telangana Martyrs Memorials.
In respect of other districts, the concerned district collectors have been asked to initiate immediate action for identifying suitable location for erection of such memorials in district headquarters. “The details of construction of such memorials, like design etc. shall be finalised by the concerned district collectors in consultation with the department of culture. The collectors shall submit a fortnightly status report in this regard to the Chief Secretary commencing from February 15,” said the press release.
