Hyderabad: A team of doctors from United Kingdom will be in the city on Saturday to examine the conjoined twin sisters, Veena and Vani. According to doctors at Niloufer Hospital where twin sisters are staying, the UK team will examine, if operation is given a green signal, the conjoined twins would be flown to UK. The team of doctors from UK has already gone through the reports of them.

Niloufer doctors further said UK team opined that 10-15 operations would be required to separate the conjoined twin sisters. The operation would be done in a phased manner in about 280 days, they added. “Operation involves teams from different countries. After examining them, feasibility and complications will be explained to the parents and also a report will be sent to the government.

If operation is given a green signal, it will be done in 5-6 stages in UK,” Dr Ramesh, Professor Surgeon said. The Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Devraj, said in the two-day visit by the doctors, they will study how to go about the operation and complications involved in it. “The matter will be also discussed with Health Minister before a decision is taken,” he added.
