Justice Vilas Afzalpurkar of Hyderabad High Court stayed further proceedings against Anil Kumar son-in-law of late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy in a case registered against him five years ago for limited period. The judge passed these interim orders in a writ petition filed by Anil Kumar. He alleged that he is being harassed in the name of a false case foisted during 2009 assembly elections.

It was alleged that he conducted meeting of Christian pastors and solicited support for Congress party led by his father-in-law. He said that a frivolous case was booked and now he is being hounded. The judge called for records and stayed further proceedings for four weeks.
