Contract workers seek regularisation

Adilabad: Employees and workers of Adilabad municipality under the banner of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) staged a dharna by locking the main gate of the municipal office here on Monday demanding the State government to resolve their pending problems. CITU leader Mallesh said that issues of municipal staff and workers were still pending despite bringing them to the notice of the higher officials on several occasions. He demanded that the State government should fulfill the poll promise of regularising the services of contract and outsourcing employees.

He also asked the government to hike the salaries of municipal workers working on contract basis.
