Demanding action against the legislators, who defected to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, ten Telangana Telugu Desam Party MLAs on Tuesday staged a protest inside the chamber of Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary.

Right before the House commenced for the session, the TDP legislators led by the TTDP Floor Leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Deputy Floor leader A. Revanth Reddy walked into the Speaker’s chamber and sought a clarification on the disqualification of the TDP legislators, who had defected to the TRS in the last few months. The TDP legislators insisted that the Speaker answer them before proceeding to the House commencement.

The Speaker in response asked them not to dictate terms and told them that he would act as per the laid down procedures who then went into the House to chair the proceedings. The protests are still going on by the TDP legislators as per reports.

On March 7, TTDP MLAs had been suspended from the House for rest of the session after the Governor’s address for the ugly turn of events. With just two days left for the budget session to conclude, BJP floor leader K. Laxman appealed to the Speaker to lift the suspension; even Congress MLA J. Geetha Reddy too echoed similar sentiment.
